My Personal Plan of Work
Introduction
Learning a language is a process that takes time, effort and dedication. It is very important to know that learning is an individual process. Therefore, it is necessary to develop your own methodology or Personal Plan of Work in English based on your needs, your interests and the way you learn.
Task 1: Write a specific learning objective in English to achieve by the end of the semester. Before writing your objective, consider your needs, your interest and the result you want at the end of this level.
This is a format for you to write your own objective or goal:

I want to be able to describe my family, their physical appearance, their personality, their likes and dislikes in English. At the end, I would like to describe my family orally without using a translator or any other external help.

My objective is to be able to recount in English the story of my favorite book “Playing the Enemy by John Carlin”. I would like to summarize the story in my own words and to write a short review of this book.

I would like to be able to explain in English how a star is born because I love astronomy. I want to create a Prezi presentation in my words and to record my voice speaking about it.

I would like to be able to give my opinion about a book that I really love: el escribidor del diablo, by Edgardo Puche Puche,a writer born in Monteria. That I want is people who don't believe in the devil, will be able to justify it, but also, convince them that we are'nt apart of the evil.

Is this book in English? if it is not in English I recommend you look for another book but in English, otherwise what you are going to do is a translation and you are not prepared to do that yet!
DeleteI would like to be able to read Petrology of sedimentary rocks, on my own. This is a book that I have to read for this semester. So, I will improve my technical vocabulary and my grammar. And, may I will be able to understand the most of the book without using traslators.

DeleteI would like to be able to read Women in science: 50 fearless pioneers who changed the world, by Rachel Ignotofsky. So, I will improve my vocabulary and may I can understand the book. And, at the end of the semester, I would like to make an oral presentation about the book.
DeleteI would like to improve my hearing and speaking skills. To do so, I will listen more often to TED talks and news. I may also try to write and work a pitch in the same format as the TED's one by th end of the semester. I will also talk to other foreigners on a daily basis to improve in fluency.
ReplyDeleteThen, I would also like to develop my vocabulary in mechanical engineering. In order to achieve this goal I will read "Numerical methods for engineers" by Steven Chapra and Raymond Canale. I may also read another english book on economy or political science to broaden my vocabulary.

This semester, in evolutionary biology we will work with books in English I would like to be able to understand them without the need to translate them, and to be able to write about some topics that attract my attention.

DeleteTry to be more specific, choose one chapter of a book or a book and focus on that. You will need to apply reading strategies so that you can develop your reading skill without the need of translating

I will practice with differents type of audios, for example with documentaries like a natural disasters by National Geographic also I will watch movies or series of Netflix such as “friends” , understand the conversation and also with this I will learn new vocabulary. Finally I want to be able to talk better and try to use new vocabulary and expressions.
You have many objectives in mind! I suggest you choose only one of the resources and rewrite your objective.

Movie from 2015 written and directed by Brian Helgeland and starring by Edward Thomas Hardy (Tom Hardy) actor at very much movies as Venom (2018), Warrior (2011), Mad Max (2015) and more. I like this film exactly for her style gangster from past years and moral of the story.
